Psychiatry Focus Group Meeting 2017- SEAL

Psychiatry Focus Group Meeting 2017 was held on 30 April 2017, Sunday at Dhaka. In this year the theme was “Start Early Adhere Longer” (SEAL). The seminar was organized by UniHealth.

22 Psychiatrists from different parts of Bangladesh along with two renowned International speakers were present in the seminar. Eminent psychiatrist Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Rabbani was the chairperson of the seminar. In that seminar Dr. Helal Uddin Ahmed, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Child, Adolescent & Family Psychiatry, National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH),delivered his presentation on the “Management of Schizophrenia: Bangladesh Perspective”. After that as an internationalspeakers Dr. Rajesh Nagpal from India gave his speech on “Early intervention in Schizophrenia: Role of LAIs”and Dr.Debashis Ray talked about “Myths and Facts about LAIs: Evidence and Experience”

There was an excellent discussion among the participants regarding the treatment strategy of schizophrenia and early intervention of Long Acting Injections (LAIs). At the end of the session on behalf of Bangladeshi Psychiatrists vote of thanks was givenby Prof. Dr. Md.Faruq Alam, Director of National Institute of Mental Health and from UniHealth Md. Shamim Alam Khan, General Manager had given Vote of thanks to all participants. The session was conducted by Safayat Mahmud, Marketing Manager, UniHealth.
