Bangladesh Renal Association (BRA), Paediatric Nephrology Society of Bangladesh (PNSB), Kidney Foundation and Kidney Awareness Monitoring & Prevention Society (KAMPS) jointly observed “World Kidney Day 2016” with a discussion meeting titled “World Kidney Day 2016” on 10th March 2016 at Institute of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh, Dhaka followed by joyous & crowded awareness rally from Matsha bhaban to IDEB building with renowned physicians, nurses, staffs, pharmaceutical persons & others.
World Kidney Day 2016– ‘Kidney disease & Children- Act early to prevent it!’– is themed to highlight the importance of kidney health particularly for children since from this age kidney functions are being developed. Parents and family members are the key persons to take care of their children from early of their age regarding sound kidney health by allowing them more time to play in the field, balanced food habit, counselling, rational use of right drug prescribed by physicians etc.
National Professor Dr. M R Khan, President, Child Health Foundation, Bangladesh was present as special guest while Mohammad Sayeed Khokon, Mayor, Dhaka City Corporation (South) was present as the chief guest of honor. The program was presided by Prof. Muhammad Rafiqul Alam, President, Bangladesh Renal Association. Also Prof. M A Samad, President, KAMPS, Prof. M Muhibur Rahman, Secretary General, BRA, Prof. Mohammad Hanif, Secretary General, PNSB, Prof. Md. Moazzem Hossain, President, PNSB, Prof. Harun Ur Rashid, President, Kidney Foundation delivered their distinguished speeches. Approximate hundred Nephrologists of different medical colleges, nurses, technicians, pharmaceutical personnel and media personnel were also present at the program. UniMed Pharma jointly organized the program with the concerned socities. Mr. Md. Akramul Kabir, Senior Product Manager, UniMed Pharma was one of the coordinating persons of this event. As a part of CSR activities Unimed Pharma provided awareness t-shirts & badges for the rally, published poster, decorated the venue to create public awareness on kidney health.
